Thank You Mom & Cookie!

My husband sometimes knows just what I need & Sunday he hit the nail on the head! He was so sweet and asked my mom to stay with the boys so we could go and run an errand or two....well and errand or two turned into a date! We had the best time we did some shopping, had a casual yummy lunch, we chatted and even got to hold eachothers hands instead of a stroller or a toddlers. It was wonderful we were out of the house for 5 whole hours in the middle of the day without the boys! It was just what I needed & I feel recharged and ready to go!

I wish my mom loved closer and days like this could happen more than just when she visits!

Roaring Success!!!

WOW, what a great weekend!!

On Saturday as the rest of the world was celebrating Valentine's Day we were busy celebrating Elijah's 3rd birthday! A few months ago Elijah had asked for a dinosaur party since he had this sudden love for them. This is very comical and a bit of karma since I personally do not believe in dinosaurs and now have a child who thinks they are the be all end all or everything. So a dinosaur party it would be for my Elijah!

Elijah, Grammie, & I spent the morning making the final treats for the party. We had a dinosaur cake, dinosaur cupcakes, dinosaur jello eggs, & dinosaur sugar cookies. He was so excited about everything! The fun for me really began when he went up for his nap & now it was time to decorate for the party. We spread 2 dozen balloons as well as a special GIANT T-Rex balloon around the house in addition to tons of dinosaur figures for the kids to play with. Elijah woke up from his nap just in time for the party to begin I got him dressed in his special birthday t-shirt from saucewear.com he LOVED it! The rest of the day went perfect we had background music from Peter on his guitar, dinosaur crafts & painting in the playroom, and dinosaur cake and ice cream for all!

Elijah had a great day & I can not believe that my baby is 3 years old where has the time gone. Now next on our list is potty training because did you know that they don't make diapers for 3 year old boys (at least that is what Elijah thinks)

The Birthday Celebrating begins...

Elijah's birthday month has started and off to a great start. Auntie Kiki has a love for Legos just like him so since she was in town for a brief visit and would not be here for his actual birthday she took him to the Lego store to pick out a birthday gift. What does an almost three year old boy who loves legos and dinosaurs pick out....yup you guessed it a dinosaur Lego set!

Elijah loved the Lego store but was I have to say was I think a bit overwhelmed. Kiki was so super excited to show him everything and that had the best time together. Samuel was a trooper since he wasn't feeling well with yet another cold.

Untitled...

So, I spoke too soon Samuel sleeping through the night was a one hit wonder and he is back to his old tricks of being up and down all night. I am exhausted and at times just angry! I hate that he does not sleep & I feel responsible for it. I have been pondering in the middle of the night, "how did this happen? how could I have allowed this to happen again?". In the mom department I am not doing so hot when it comes to teaching my children how to sleep since I have one who will only sleep if pressed against my breast & only the right one for that matter and the other who will not sleep without the light on. How did this happen? We are ready to Feberize Samuel and I swear as a defense he comes down with yet another cold! WHY is he so sick? Isn't this why we decided I would be a stay at home mom so he would not get sick because of daycare? So, currently Samuel is sick again & therefore Elijah & I are stuck in the house trying to survive my least favorite time of the year WINTER.....AND to top it all off that damn groundhog saw his shadow and that there will be six more weeks of winter!

HUGE NEWS!!!

I got a full nights sleep! Samuel slept from midnight till 8am. I woke up at 6am in a panic & in fear that he was not breathing but he was and he was still sleeping. I am hoping that since today he is eight months old that maybe just maybe we have made a turn for the better and he is going to become a better sleeper. I hope so because as soon as Cookie is ready I am down to Ferberize!!!

Other news....Auntie Kiki is here visiting and we are having so much fun with her! The boys love her to piece & she is always a good sport about playing whatever Elijah has planned for them.

OK well my few minutes away is over gotta get back on duty!

Are you wondering what happened to us???

BUSY BUSY BUSY!!!!

The new year has brought not a minute of rest for The Popotte Family! The main reason and number one culprit, SAMUEL. In a period of 3 weeks Samuel learned how to crawl on all fours (quickly), sit up, pull himself up to stand & is now attempting to let go and walk. All of these new skills have made it so I can not leave him for one second because you never know where he & Elijah are going to end up or what they are going to end up into.

Are holidays were wonderful, it was so nice to be home with our families and in the sunshine. Elijah LOVED Christmas and all that came along with it & Samuel just loved hanging out with everyone & chasing after Elijah's new stuff.

After two weeks away we were happy to be home in our own beds but not really too thrilled to the weather that has not stopped since we got back. Elijah loved the snow and has already made two snowman this season, thanks to Daddy who will take him outside.

Gotta run Samuel calls from his brief nap. Poor little guy has a head cold, a cough, and is simply miserable!

As Dora Would Say....

WE DID IT!!!! WE DID IT!!! WE DID IT!!!

We arrived safe and sound in sunny Florida yesterday at noon time. Our original plan was to travel on Friday but due to the lovely winter weather our flight was cancelled and rescheduled for 7:30am Saturday morning.

So I am happy again to report that my boys all traveled like champs and were perfect and we are now enjoying our Christmas vacation in the warm weather while it looks like everyone else at home will be having a white Christmas!

Daddy Down!

So what I thought was going to be a very productive and fun weekend turned out to be not exactly that. Long story short.... Cookie sprained his ankle and has been on crutches since Saturday. I feel awaful for my husband and I wish that he could walk and be perfectly well but to be really honest I feel bad for myself. I now am the only one to who can do the laundry, the packing, the cleaning, and everything else that goes along with our trip to Florida. I know I will get it done but an extra set of hands would be nice. On top of it all I now will be traveling with a baby, a toddler, and a criple on Friday which I am sure will have it's fair share of stories to blog about. Say a prayer my husband has a miracle cure and suddenly can walk or at the very least that I do not kill him before we arrive at my parents house on Friday.

AWFUL SIMPLY AWFUL!!!!!

I can not get this out of my mind, poor sweet, polite, kind, & good hearted William got PUNCHED in the face today on the bus! Yeah "Jacob" who is a 4Th grader punched William in the face while he was talking to his friend Abby & took his hat. I bet everyone is wondering what William did....he simply told him that was his hat and took it back. I guess this boy Jacob has been screwing around with William all year on the bus and he usually just squishes him but two days ago he pushed him and took Williams seat and then today he punched him! William told Shannon he thinks it was just an accident, how can he (William) be so kind and good hearted? I am so angry & can only imagine how my sister feels. God help the first little kid to put their hands on my boys or even worse the first girl that breaks their heart, I swear I will kill them!

I hope that this little boy Jacob gets kicked off the bus and that Santa brings him nothing but coal for Christmas!!!! Oh & watch out everyone because Kiki is getting William karate lessons for Christmas and he will be a black belt before we know it!!
