Five on Friday....

I was making lunch for the boys today and suddenly realized crap it's already Friday, downside to being a stay at home mom all the days just sort of blend together sometimes. Anyways on the the FoF....

1. Monsters have invaded Elijah's side of the room. This has been a disaster and has caused many bedtime issues over the past few days. These monsters have also stolen blankee in the middle of the night and caused him to come screaming across the hall in fear of his life. I personally have no patience for this and have told him over and over again that there is no such thing but it does not seem to be working.

2. I am loving school! I love that I am getting the chance to study something I have always had an interest in and I love the fact that I get to have adult conversation at least once a month and it does not involve my children or theirs as a topic. Going to school has had me feel alive again and I am so thankful for everyone who supported me in the decision especially Cookie who gave the final push!

3. Samuel has become an stealth climber and is able to make it to the top of anything in less than 30 seconds. In the past week I have found him on top of various tables, chairs, tool benches, and hanging out many windows we are not really sure what this child is not capable of.

4. I am extremely sad that the cooler weather is on it's way. I love and long for summer all year and the fact that it is only here for a brief two months makes me what to move (not happening) to Florida.

5. Finally, this morning while on my way to the grocery store I was listening to talk radio, I'm such a dork I know but anyways I was listening to everything that the late Senator Ted Kennedy did for our country and all the laws and bills he assisted in getting passed and it made me realize truly what a great loss our country had this week and what an incredible seat that will be to fill.

Till next Friday....

Fruit Salad....

Samuel will eat almost anything that is put in front of him or rather anything that he can get his hands on. BUT what he really likes to do is hide food in his crazy afro....take a look for yourself. At this rate his will be getting his head shaved in no time!

Five on Friday

1. I love that is has been hazy, hot, and humid all week long! All year long I long and dream about these types of days so you will not hear me complain at all about it. However, the pool does make it that much easier to deal with.

2. I hate that I am a procrastinator. I have been my entire life and although I always seem to get things done I wish I did not leave them to the last minute.

3. My boys make me smile all day long even when I am correcting/yelling at them I still can not help but smile.

4. I have mentioned it before BUT I am simply amazed by my sister Shannon. William had surgery today to remove his adenoids and her ability to handle him as well as all of the health care professionals to actually get to this point is simply unbelievable she ROCKS!

5. Grandpa is finally home from the hospital after 12 days & this is wonderful. However this does not mean much since we are STILL waiting on answers as to his health and course of care to follow. Please everyone keep him and my family in your prayers I have a feeling we have a long & bumpy road ahead of us.

So....there it is my second FoF hope you enjoyed & of course a blog post would not be complete without a picture or two of my boys!

"Hey Mom you see that???"

Most evenings Cookie and I take the boys on a walk around the neighborhood in an effort to get some exercise, time to chat, and to wind the day down. The entire walk Elijah is saying, "hey Mom you see that_________?" and I will be honest at this point in the day I just agree and continue my conversation with Cookie. Monday evening the boys and I were solo on our walk and again Elijah said "hey Mom you see that bees nest?" I responded "What?" "Yeah you see the bees?" I looked up and did I ever! There is a GIANT hive!!! I said "Wow Elijah that is crazy" he so politely responded "I told you there were bees in the tree YESTERDAY!!!". He had in fact told me about the bees before by I just brushed him off but told I looked, was in awww, and went back to get my camera. Take a look! Taking care of these bees defiantly warrants a bee suit!

It was a beautiful day....

to fly a kite today! Elijah has been going on and on about flying a kite since June when Kiki was here and gave him a kite and then later when Uncle Bill visited he told him next time he came to town he would fly a kite with him. So, since June Elijah has been asking if Bill is coming today and if he could fly his kite today. My continual standard answer was "not today". Well, then on Tuesday a mystery package arrived for Elijah from Uncle Bill followed by a phone call a few days later that he would be in town this weekend and Saturday they were going to fly the kite!

It was not the best day to fly a kite the wind was low & it was 100 degrees out but Elijah did not know any different. Cookie and Uncle Bill were able to get the awesome Red Barron box kite up several times and Elijah was thrilled to pieces. He had the best day today and when putting him to bed tonight he wanted to know when was Uncle Bill coming again to fly a kite because he loves him!!!! Too sweet I know!!!

FoF

Five on Friday, a simple take from my fellow bloggers that do a Ten on Tuesday!

1. Samuel is crazy, has no fear, and is basically a Kamikaze pilot in his own world! Although this is awesome for him it makes for a very long day for Elijah & I.

2. I think my husband is amazing. I can not believe that he tolerates me daily and that most days he actually loves me too!

3. I am working on showing Pugsley more love. Cookie commented that I was on the one who wanted him and that I need to start caring more about him and loving him again....I'm trying!

4. No, Elijah is NOT going to preschool in the fall! Everyone we come in contact with asks this right after they ask if he is potty trained. Yes he is potty trained & NO he is not going to preschool in the fall and I am happy that he will be home with me!

5. I have not sent a text message while driving in over a week. My mother asked me to stop texting while driving and I have but only for the exchange that I am not wearing sunblock now. So, I may end up with skin cancer in a few short years but I won't cause an accident because I was texting!

Off to the farm....

Our field trip this week was to Davis' Farmland in Sterling Ma. It is out of pure love for my boys that I go anywhere that there are animals since I really do not care for animals at all, I don't like zoos, farms, aquariums, and I am still puzzled as to why we actually have a dog ourselves. Anyway, it was well worth the drive for the day that we had. The kids had a blast feeding the animals, chasing the animals, and running around like animals themselves. Actually now that I am thinking about Samuel was not such a fan he screamed and cried when I brought him close to see the animals so he and Micheal stayed strapped in the stroller hanging out for most of the day.

My Elijah surprised me with how brave he was with the animals and was happy to show his friends how to feed the animals and how much fun it was.

And to top it all off we ended the day with a pony ride!

OH WAIT....did I say we ended the day with a pony ride, NO we ended our day at Dr. Chung's office. Yup, my independent 3 1/2 year old son decided he was not going to let the nice lady cut off his bracelet when we were leaving and he was going to rip it off himself. Well, he failed in ripping it off as a matter of fact he is still wearing it but he was successful in popping his elbow out of the socket. Yes, once again Elijah dislocated his elbow. So, after an hour plus ride home we were off to the pediatricians office to wait an hour to have it popped back in. Dr. Chung showed me again how to put it back but I am still not confidant that I could do it. Fingers crossed I never have the chance again, yeah right!

MOOO

Tonight Cookie and I packed the boys up and instead of giving them dinner like all good parents should at 6pm in the evening we headed over to Crescent Ridge Creamery to see the cows and get some ice cream. I was so excited myself since I have been dairy deprived for the last year thanks to Samuel and his dairy allergy. When we pulled up since it was a cool evening all of the cows were out grazing and really close to the fence so the boys were both very excited. We were also lucky that Mona & Nono who live very close by were free and able to come meet us, we love any chance we get to see them they are the sweetest couple! We ordered our ice creams and headed over to see the cows where Elijah was trying to teach Samuel that cows say "Moo" not "AHHHH" Samuel really just wanted to yell and run into the fenced area with the cows. After visiting with the cows we headed over to climb on the old tractor. Elijah has loved this tractor since he was Samuel's age it is so cool to watch him on it every time. After some climbing, some more mooing, and a few final licks of ice cream we headed home....it was a perfect time!

A Friday with Friends....

We had a very busy day on Friday the boys and I. After taking Elijah to soccer we headed up to Rockport to hang at the beach all day. It was a perfect beach day, 83 degrees, sunny with only a few puffy clouds, and the company of really good friends. We were at the beach all day long which is a dream come true in the my world. After the beach we rinsed the kids off and headed over to Kimberly's house for a pizza party and bath time for the kids. I went with the intention of bathing my boys, putting their pjs on, and they would sleep all the way home. As always my plan did not really work....Elijah fought me to take a bath and when I finally got him bathed and dressed he and Samuel both were awake the entire time home. Yup my boys are rock stars and they were up till 10:30 on Friday night. It was all worth it to spend the day with good girlfriends and their kids!

Beach Bums

Last week Sue and I ventured to the beach with the kids. I was a bit nervous but I knew we could do it, after all we are moms we can do anything! I am happy to say in the words of Dora "WE DID IT" it was success! The kids all loved it and had a great day. Both my boys are fearless when it comes to the water and Samuel had a few good wave knock outs but rebounded like a champ! Elijah was so thrilled to spend the day with Cam running, swimming, and building sandcastles. My only hope next time will be that Elijah stops throwing the sand even if it is only back in to the water and that Samuel would stop eating it. Oh, and beautiful Arianna was such a joy and pleasure she is always happy!!! Looking forward to another beach day soon!!!!!!

Brotherly Love....

Since, Samuel was born he has been called many different names; Samuel, Sam I Am, Samwellie, Sammy, Munchie, Tutu, & brother. But recently Elijah has given him a new name. The other night that were wrestling and being crazy when suddenly there was a pause. Elijah reached over put his arm around Samuel and says, "Samuel, you my best friend I love you!". It melted my heart & I wished I had it on tape! I figured this was a one shot deal and that would be it. Then yesterday while in the check out at BJs Elijah was introducing himself to the cashier and then he introduced his brother, "His name is Samuel, he's my brother & my best friend!" The cashier got teary eyed and I actually did too. They are so cute & really love each other. I hope that they stay like this and when they are older and need each other they are there for one another.
