Thank You Mom & Cookie!

My husband sometimes knows just what I need & Sunday he hit the nail on the head! He was so sweet and asked my mom to stay with the boys so we could go and run an errand or two....well and errand or two turned into a date! We had the best time we did some shopping, had a casual yummy lunch, we chatted and even got to hold eachothers hands instead of a stroller or a toddlers. It was wonderful we were out of the house for 5 whole hours in the middle of the day without the boys! It was just what I needed & I feel recharged and ready to go!

I wish my mom loved closer and days like this could happen more than just when she visits!

Roaring Success!!!

WOW, what a great weekend!!

On Saturday as the rest of the world was celebrating Valentine's Day we were busy celebrating Elijah's 3rd birthday! A few months ago Elijah had asked for a dinosaur party since he had this sudden love for them. This is very comical and a bit of karma since I personally do not believe in dinosaurs and now have a child who thinks they are the be all end all or everything. So a dinosaur party it would be for my Elijah!

Elijah, Grammie, & I spent the morning making the final treats for the party. We had a dinosaur cake, dinosaur cupcakes, dinosaur jello eggs, & dinosaur sugar cookies. He was so excited about everything! The fun for me really began when he went up for his nap & now it was time to decorate for the party. We spread 2 dozen balloons as well as a special GIANT T-Rex balloon around the house in addition to tons of dinosaur figures for the kids to play with. Elijah woke up from his nap just in time for the party to begin I got him dressed in his special birthday t-shirt from saucewear.com he LOVED it! The rest of the day went perfect we had background music from Peter on his guitar, dinosaur crafts & painting in the playroom, and dinosaur cake and ice cream for all!

Elijah had a great day & I can not believe that my baby is 3 years old where has the time gone. Now next on our list is potty training because did you know that they don't make diapers for 3 year old boys (at least that is what Elijah thinks)

The Birthday Celebrating begins...

Elijah's birthday month has started and off to a great start. Auntie Kiki has a love for Legos just like him so since she was in town for a brief visit and would not be here for his actual birthday she took him to the Lego store to pick out a birthday gift. What does an almost three year old boy who loves legos and dinosaurs pick out....yup you guessed it a dinosaur Lego set!

Elijah loved the Lego store but was I have to say was I think a bit overwhelmed. Kiki was so super excited to show him everything and that had the best time together. Samuel was a trooper since he wasn't feeling well with yet another cold.

Untitled...

So, I spoke too soon Samuel sleeping through the night was a one hit wonder and he is back to his old tricks of being up and down all night. I am exhausted and at times just angry! I hate that he does not sleep & I feel responsible for it. I have been pondering in the middle of the night, "how did this happen? how could I have allowed this to happen again?". In the mom department I am not doing so hot when it comes to teaching my children how to sleep since I have one who will only sleep if pressed against my breast & only the right one for that matter and the other who will not sleep without the light on. How did this happen? We are ready to Feberize Samuel and I swear as a defense he comes down with yet another cold! WHY is he so sick? Isn't this why we decided I would be a stay at home mom so he would not get sick because of daycare? So, currently Samuel is sick again & therefore Elijah & I are stuck in the house trying to survive my least favorite time of the year WINTER.....AND to top it all off that damn groundhog saw his shadow and that there will be six more weeks of winter!
