Pool Day!

It was a perfectly beautiful pool day today & because of that Elijah suckered us into letting him skip his nap and swim in the pool. I really do not like to skip nap but I just figured he would go to bed early and Cookie and I would have some time to ourselves. Well, that is not exactly how it worked out and these pictures are exactly why Elijah still naps everyday for at least 2 hours.

Sesame Street Live!!!

Cookie surprised the boys with tickets to Sesame Street Live this weekend, courtesy of Comcast. The boys loved it & had a great time. Samuel was clapping, dancing, and singing along to everything. We had fantastic seats and could see everything perfect. Elijah was very also very in it but a little disappointed that he did not actually get to walk on Sesame Street. When I told him where we were going he asked if he could ride his bike there so I don't think he actually understood till me arrived at the show what was really going on. It was so much fun! Cookie & I both had a great time and were dancing in our seats right along with the kids!

Weekend Update....

We had such a nice weekend. Cookie finally had a weekend off and we were all able to spend some time together as a family. I have to admit I really look forward to the weekends to not only have some time with my husband but to also have an extra hand with the boys.

Friday evening we went to Friendly's for dinner and it was a success! Elijah does not eat out very well but I am determined to make it so we are not stuck in the house eating home all the time so I thought hey maybe Friendly's would work and I was craving a slice of watermelon roll. Everything went perfect he sat well, ate well, and even finished most of his dessert. Samuel of course was perfect and just happy to smile and chat to the table next to us. Elijah was excited because since he had been so good he got to pick out a balloon to take home! I think Friendly's might be our new Friday night hand out.

Saturday it rained and rained and rained!!!! I started my day grocery shopping solo which is such a treat while Cookie and the boys hung out at the house. After nap time we headed over to visit with Great Grandma and Grandmere. Samuel loves his Great Grandma and was just laughing away while she sang to him. Elijah was thrilled to go for a visit and finally get some decent chicken and rice. He loves his Grandmere's chicken and rice and will request it from me at least once a week. Unfortunately I do not even come close to making chicken or rice half as good as my mother in laws. After hanging out, playing, and eating a great Haitian meal it was time to head home and put the boys to bed.

Sunday we headed to Canobie Lake park for Cookie's company picnic. The weather was perfect & so wasn't out adventure. Once getting to the park we had lunch and then headed over to kiddy land to check out the rides. Elijah had a blast and loved them. He was so funny to watch, most kids wave at their parents, yell, or laugh not Elijah he just had a goofy grin on the entire time. His favorite part of the day was the train ride. He is obsessed with trains and riding on them so once he saw the train that went around the park we had to go on it. We waited in line for almost a half hour for that darn train ride but it was worth it, Elijah and Samuel both loved it. While on the train Cookie and I decided that it was time to call it a day. The boys both of course were passed out on the way home. Elijah seemed to really have a great time it's all he talked about all night!

There it is that was our weekend....nothing too exciting but it was great!

FLIPPIN' TYPO!!!!!!!!!!!

I have to address it.....Yes I know that there is a typo on the invitations to Samuel's baptism. I swear I read and reread those dang things before sending them out but I guess that is what happens when you have a toddler at your feet and a baby on your boob and you try to do invitations. So I am sorry & very embarrassed that I sent them not perfect & I hope that everyone understands how it could happen.

OK well we are off the Canobie Lake Park today for a Comcast Company picnic so I will blog about that later. Hope everyone is having a great weekend!

A Sunday Visit

Today was a great family day! We started our day with a visit from The Kerr Family (Rob, Marybeth, Emma, & Julia). Marybeth and I have know each other a better part of our lives now and have been blessed enough to have our children within months of each other both times and now they will grow up together! Here are some pictures of the kids it is so sad that they live in CT and can not get together to play more often....

Later on after Elijah's nap he was able to show off his swimming skills to Daddy. However, Elijah's time did not last too long in the pool as he stood at the stairs shivering with blue lips he informed me that its not warm like Grammie's pool!

Today was a wonderful, relaxing, enjoyable Sunday & I am sad that my husband has to work tomorrow!

An Afternoon Out

THANK YOU Julie mother of 5, who was willing to take both boys so that Cookie and I could attend a wedding! I was very anxious about leaving Samuel since he has not been taking the bottle willingly or with much success but even after fully disclosing this to Jules she still wanted to take them. So about 2 o'clock Sunday afternoon we dropped the boys off. Everyone had a great day Elijah played with the boys train set for 3 hours straight, Samuel actually took some of the bottle, & I got an afternoon out with my husband!

We had such a beautiful time at the wedding. We set at a fun table, won the centerpiece of beautiful flowers, ate a great meal, and danced most of the afternoon and evening away. Thank you Cookie for making me go and assuring me that the boys would be ok!

Fun Friday

What started as a rainy day turned out to be full of sunshine. We had plans to meet Elijah's friends at the park which were almost cancelled by a morning rain storm, however lucky for mom the sun decided to shine. I was doing my own personal sun dance in the shower praying for the sun to shine because Elijah really needed to run around and be with his friends and I needed some time out to chat with the moms. Thank God it worked! But just as we were about to head out the door and I went over to get always smiling Samuel and noticed that he had puked and it was all over him from his eyes to his toes and all over the tray of the swing. He is a puker and it never ever phases him at all he just pukes, laughs, and smiles! So after a quick wipe down and wardrobe change we head out the door to the park.

The park was great the kids loved it and they are too cute to watch together. So Elijah climbed everything there was to climb went down all the slides and even got a few rounds on the swing....it was a good day! Samuel so nicely pooped all over himself and me as well as puked but after a quick change it was time to head home. So back to the house where Elijah and I indulged in a chicken nugget & bbq sauce lunch and then everyone went down for a nap (including mom).

Today was a good day & I am happy the sun came out!

No Place Like Home....

Well here we are 24 days away from home and now we are back. It is true what they say there is no place like home! The boys traveled amazing and made me very proud to be their mom on the return trip since they were just as good as the way down. It was so wonderful to see Cookie at the airport waiting for us. He is such a great dad and had a bright red balloon for Elijah. Elijah was jumping out of his skin to see him and just ran and jumped into his arms, I thought those things only happened in the movies it brought tears to my eyes. Cookie is amazed at how big the boys got over the time we were gone. After hugs and kisses all around from Cookie we got our bags and headed home. I am happy to say that everyone settled in well and slept all night!

Our vacation was fantastic! Sorry for not posting but with visiting, swimming, and computer issues are Grammie and Papa's it just did not happen. However check back in the next few days I hope to have an extra long post about our adventures!

And The Award Goes To...

Elijah James Popotte, for best toddler in a faking an injury! Yup, you read correctly Elijah officially faked his first injury & here is the story. It was Wed July 16th & Cookie would be working late which always makes for a LONG LONG day for mom and the boys but as with anything I make the best of it. The day had been perfect almost too good to be true if I think back, the boys napped on schedule and at the same time, the house was clean, I had showered & been able to talk on the phone, and Elijah and I had even gotten some outside time while Samuel took an extra snooze. Then the witching hour hit six o'clock, I swear something goes off in Elijah's head and he turns crazy. He starts running around, yelling, chanting crazy things like I want ice cream and yelling all the shows he watches as if I might just like what he is saying and pick one and turn it on, and then all of the sudden he jumps from one place to another and falls to the ground screaming in pain. I of course was nursing Samuel so I encouraged Elijah to come to me & amazingly he listened and he did come to me SCREAMING and CRYING "my arm, my arm HURT" & he will not let me touch it & nor will he move it at all. At this point I do what any good mother would do and I put him up on the sofa and turn on a show ( I guess his chanting did work) and put some frozen peaches on it (we were all out of ice). An hour has passed at this point and I have willingly given him dinner on the sofa because his arm hurts, let him stay up past his bedtime, and let him watch too many shows but finally he is engrossed and tired enough I move in to assess. I touched his arm nothing no reaction, again I touch a different spot nothing no reaction, I move it & he does not even seemed phased & finally I straighten it out & he does nothing. This 2 1/2yr old has pulled a fast on one me & I don't really know if I am mad or impressed at his skills to do so. So off to the bath and bed where he still is milking "said" injury.

Finally some time after ten my hard working husband rushes in the house from a very long day at work and I inform him Elijah is fine and that he is faking. Of course he thinks I am crazy, Elijah would never do such a thing! Fast forward to this morning (Thursday) Cookie goes in to get Elijah and of course as the clever toddler he is he tells his father, "Daddy my arm hurt" followed by a gibberish story of nothing. Cookie and Elijah then climb into bed with Samuel and I, Elijah still milking the injured arm. Cookie has decided he needs to see the dr, ok well in an hour when they open I will call them.....well within the next 10 minutes Elijah proceeded to go into a full handstand on the bed and began his day as he always does running around our room and chasing poor Pugsley, I guess he forgot about his hurt arm because he never mentioned it again!

DDD

Dishes, diapers, & dog hair.....this is what makes up my day EVERY day I am constantly cleaning up dishes, changing diapers, and getting rid of dog hair. That being said strangely enough I find this wonderful (most days that is) and completely fulfilling. I never ever thought that staying home and being a mother and wife would be what I would find satisfying and label as my dream job. I wasn't that little girl who longed to be mother or wife (a bride yes) I knew those were things that I would "just" do one day but I never would have imagined that they would be what I LOVE doing. As a matter of fact I LOVE being home so much and the daily drama of dishes, diapers, and dog hair that I have retired! After 11 years with Verizon Cookie & I have decided that it is best for our family for me to stay home and we couldn't be happier!!!

Welcome to our story....

In an effort to keep some sanity of mine I have decided to start up a Blog about my family, me, my husband, the boys, the dog, or whatever other happenings seem to come to mind. I hope that as people read this they find if helpful to keep up on family happenings and also to see what the boys are all about. So as we start our blog Elijah is a month shy of being 2 1/2yrs old and Samuel is 6 1/2wks, they are both amazing and wonderful and are the joy that make my life livable!

Please check back often to see whats happening!
